Louisiana Collegiate Design Competition · LSU · August 2018 – February 2019

  • Created a new engineering design competition at LSU, drawing 130+ college participants from multiple disciplines and schools.
  • Led a team of 10 as Design Chair, planning logistics, organizing supplies, and serving as point of contact for industry judges.

The Louisiana Collegiate Design Competition was a student-led, two-day engineering competition at LSU. As Design Chair, my roles included handling all graphics-related parts, assisting the head chair in facilitating the team, and being the point of contact with our industry judges.

The competition challenged teams to transport 5 irregularly shaped objects to a designated landing zone for maximum points. Teams were provided a budget to purchase materials at a shop and 8 hours to design and build their proposed solution.

Overall, the competition was a huge success, with 140+ participants from LSU, Tulane, and local high schools. The next step is to make this event an annual competition.
